Lake County Task Force fighting teen drinking gets grant

A task force formed in 2006 to address the prevention of underage drinking will receive a $125,000 grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
The Lake County Underage Prevention Task Force is comprised of community leaders, young people, parents, teachers, religious organizations, business professionals, and law enforcement. The task force applied for the grant last year after data showed youth alcohol and prescription drug use to be a growing trend nationally, and emerging trend locally, said Liz Nelson, community health specialist for Lake County Health Department.
